From around the encroaching darkness surrounding Matias came noises of the inhuman and monstrous. A cacophony of monstrous growls and screams of the long departed and forgotten. The darkness itself appeared to be shifting around the man, as fleeting shadows danced around the corner of his eyes. Eyes appeared all around him, dotted across the landscapes as each trembled with obsession. [break][break]

"Kekekekeh..." A girl's croaky voice broke the silence, appearing before Matias as two feet, shrouded in the darkness around them presented themself before the man, the rest of her body unable to be seen. Around her, the silhouettes of other Pokémon in her party showed themselves before the girl's eyes glowed a sharp red while a patch of red fangs tore through the darkness to deliver such an eerie laugh. [break][break]

"WAAAAUGHHAHAHAHA!" [break][break]

Or Matias could probably make out that a Pokémon was causing most of the effects here, with the bushes around him shuffling around with Pokemon inside.

The shadows didn't react to the man's barked order, the girl's silhouette standing before them both while piercing crimson eyes stared into the souls of the two. The laughing had died down enough for both to settle somewhat, though they weren't alone. Around both, lavender flames were born from the darkness, four in total. They danced around the area, the tips of the flames bobbing up and down while their bodies seemed to multiply. Once, twice, three times, until there were twelve small orbs circling the trainer and his Dragonite. [break][break]

From elsewhere, the hidden Litwick had used FIRE SPIN to create the orbs of fire, all the while the girl had suddenly gone missing. Away from Matias, Ashley and her Gengar would run into a bit of a hassle, as a nearby Golurk had wandered in the middle of their fun. Eleanor summoned up all of her accursed energy and then unleashed a wicked DARK PULSE upon the area nearby. A sudden explosion of darknes rocked the areas, snuffing the Litwick's flames out as both were left in darkness. [break][break]

Ashley went up to the wounded Golurk, her eyes scanning across its form as a wick little idea hatched in her mind. She beamed up at the other Pokemon while holding up a Pokeball with a toothy grin. "Gengar!" [break][break]

After a moment of silence, the girl's silhouette appeared again, though this time, she was much taller, towering over the pair. The gleeful smile on her face turned into a deranged, toothy grin, as the hints of red color cracked across her shadow, alongside another rattling cry. "RAAAAAAAAUUUUUGH!" she screech, glaring daggers at Matias and the Dragonite. [break][break]

To say that Ashley or the Golurk and Gengar propping her up had been expecting the sudden attack would have been the understatement of the season. The moment that the Gengar had noticed the Dragonite appear before it, its face would be introduced to the side of the dragon's tail smashing into its face. It sent the Gengar sailing back from the impact while Ashley tumbled forward away from the Golurk. The moment of the impact, the illusions dancing around them had vanished, and the spooky child flopped face first on the ground. [break][break]

"Gen..." She murmured, pushing herself off of the ground with a sudden "uuf" and facing the either stunned or confused Matias. Her eyes widened at the effects of their spooky shenanigans being interrupted, as the route was back to its usual splendor. Some of her ghost entourage peeked out from their hiding spots, glancing at Matias and the Dragonite while the Litwick hopped over in defense of her owner. [break][break]

But the spookiest kid in all of Hoenn had an image to keep! "Gengar!" Ashley cursed the man in the dialect of a Pokemon, then rubbed the spot on her head on her head and stormed over to Matias. A soft growl could be heard coming out of her throat, with the child letting out a soft pout with a finger pointed at him. Not a second later, and she threw an empty pokeball at him. "Gar! Gen!" she said, believing him to be another one of those ghosts flying around. [break][break]
